Since the controller would drive a 1200 modem directly, a fair amount of detailed information is required to bit-bang to create the proper packet framing. Two immediate questions I have: 1. What is the ISO 3309 algorithm for calculating the 16 bit Frame-check sequence? Anyone have this standard handy? Is it a CRC? 2. What segments of the frame can/should be omitted for the connectionless mode of operation? If you have designed this kind of packet generator (common in amateur high altitude balloons, satellites, beacons, etc.) or know someone who has and is on the Internet, please email me: Hank Riley, N1LTV h1riley@umassd.edu ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 25 Jul 1994 20:53:42 From: nwnexus!olympus.net!olympus.net!vaughnwt@uunet.uu.net Subject: digital Video fishing expedition To: ham-digital@ucsd.edu Calling all brains! O.k. I am looking for information on any type of digital video modes. Slow scan, fast scan, I have heard the rumors but now it is time for facts. Are there any engineers out there who have digitized video and sent it over 56k lines. What is state of the art? What is on the edge? I am setting up a system and need all the options. Thanks for any responses. ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 25 Jul 1994 20:56:19 From: nwnexus!olympus.net!olympus.net!vaughnwt@uunet.uu.net Subject: GRAPE GURU?
